Best New Year's Eve Ever!!!

Josh with his new car that he got for the main event.

Look at that smile, he is so proud of himself! :)

It is only 7:00pm and I think that I can say that this will be the best New Year's Eve ever! :) Joshua is 3 1/2 years old and is still not pottie trained. I have been working with him for months now. He is able to pee in the toliet, but I have not been able to get him to poop in the toliet. He won't even tell me when he needs to go so I can put a diaper on him. So I have been keeping him in diapers, because I can't stand the poop in the underwear. Pull-ups are expensive and if he is pooping in them, it's a big mess. So I have just been putting him in diapers. He is protesting the diapers now, so we are having a little standoff. Yesterday he put a pull up on and he stayed dry all day long...no poop though. Today he put a new one on himself even after I tried to get it off of him. He has stayed dry all day long, then tonight...We had just finished dinner and James called to say that he was on his way home and I heard Josh yell from the bathroom, "Mom, I pooped!" (I've heard this before and it has been a false alarm, so I was skeptical). So I ran in there, the rest of the kids followed. We all started screaming for joy when we saw that he really did poop in the toliet. I almost can't believe that it happened! I am so proud of him, he is so proud of himself, you can tell just by the look on his face. It is so exciting.

Abby's First Lost Tooth

We thought for a while that we were going to have Santa and the Tooth Fairy come on the same night. But Abby would not let that tooth go. It has been loose for a while and she has been playing with it. Today she was sucking her thumb and I was getting frustrated with her and put the chili powder on her thumb... When we had both calmed down I was talking with her I said let me feel your tooth, and I accidentally pulled some roots loose. By now it was just hanging on by a thread. The only way I could convince her to let me pull it out was to put anbesol on it and pull it out. It came out so easy. She was upset that there was blood but it stopped soon. She was so excited to put her tongue in the hole.

Later Aunt Bonnie told us that when she was growing up her parents told her that her tooth would come in gold if she didn't put her tongue in the hole. Abby asked it that was true and Aunt Bonnie said, "I don't know, I always put my tongue in the hole."

Here is Abby holding the same pillow I used for the Tooth Fairy when I was a little kid. I have a different one that the boys use. So this was really exciting for me.

Jamie's Fashion Show

For Christmas I wanted to make Jamie a color book. Which is just a little scrapbook full of pictures of her in different color clothing. I have done it for Abby and Josh and my nephew and one of my nieces. So before I do it, I usually end up having to have a "fashion show". I gather the kids and tell them what we are going to do. I tell them we are doing blue and they go and get blue toys. After the first couple colors with Abby, they got all excited and started changing their outfits so they could be in the picture too. It was really cute. Some of the best pictures of them I have gotten this way. So Jamie is about the age to do it. So yesterday I thought we need to have a fashion show. The kids were not as cooperative as they have been in the past. Maybe my expectations were too high. Jamie only lasted 3 colors... pink, purple and blue. But I think that we got some cute ones.

"BLUE"

Blue again with Abby and Toby, a chair, a microphone, a basketball, a barbie or two, a trach can, etc...

"PURPLE" with a doll, a plate, a finger puppet theatre, and a stroller (just out of the picture)

"PINK"

more Pink

"BLUE" with Josh (even though he isn't wearing blue) she is wearing a apron that is blue.

Black Friday

Yes I admit it, I am one of the crazy ones that went out shopping this morning at the unholy hour of 5:30am. I try to go every year to the JoAnn's sale to get flannel. In years past it has been $1.00 a yard for flannel, I usually try to stock up on flannel for the whole year in addition to purchasing enough flannel for pajama pants for the kids. So I usually buy a whole bunch of flannel. This year I was sad to find out that said flannel was $1.49 a yard. And the extra 20% off of your purchase didn't apply to the flannel. :( So I decided I just would not get as much of it. I made a plan and was determined to stick to it. I got there and I stood in line for the doors to open and went in got MOST of my fabric and got a numer... Number 91!!! That wouldn't have been so bad but they were cutting number 21!!!!!!! Holy Crap. I was behind by 70 people. After an hour of waiting they had only gone through 10 people! My phone was dying, I had James car, he had to get to work. It was all a bad combination. The funny thing about crafters is that they are usually pretty nice. One lady heard me talking to James on the phone and she gave me her number... number 59. I was suddenly moving up in the world. Then another lady gave me number 43. How this many people had this many numbers was beyond me, but I was greatful. So I stood in line for 3 hours and got my fabric cut. By the time it was all cut and I had paid I had spent 4 hours at JoAnns!! It was totally crazy, but it is the only time of the year I will ever do something like that. Maybe one day I will take Abby and Jamie to the fabric store shopping for their little ones! Ha! That is so far away it is puposterous to even think of :)

I was going to go to Target but I decided I had had enough fun for one day. So now I am home and trying to take my mind off of all the things I want (have) to sew and make for Christmas. I love sewing!! :)

Kids Say the Funniest Things

Today we were driving in the car and the kids noticed that some people already had up Christmas lights. As we were talking about it they were asking if we were putting up lights. So as we were discussing it I asked them if they thought theri aunts and uncles were going to be putting up lights. When we got to Stephanie (who lives in my in-laws house while they are on a mission in England) I asked them if they thought that she was going to put up lights.

Without missing a beat Toby said, "she can't, she needs a man to do that." When I asked for a clairification, he told me that "she doesn't go on the roof only men do." Now I know for a fact that she has gone on the roof, and I wouldn't put it past her to put up the lights by herself. But, I got a really good chuckle thinking about gender rolls that the kids are already learning. I don't know if it is because of me, but it probably is. When it comes down to it I think it's good he knows that men have thier jobs they have to do around the house. His future wife whould be thanking me. :)

Potty Training Blues

First of all I have to say that I think that you have to be a parent of a truly difficult child to understand the following story.

A few weeks ago, we had all of the kids down to bed but Josh. He crawled into our bed and was supposed to be cuddling but was too squirmy to really call it that, anyway, James looked at me and asked me how could I ever be mad at such a sweet, mild mannered child. To which I reminded James that he is not always mild mannered, and I don't usually get mad, just very frustrated, with his 3 year old self. This is a story of such frustrations today...

Josh is just about 3 1/2 years old, and he is not potty trained... I have been doing diapers continuously for over 10 years now, so whatever. But I have been starting to get looks and comments from other parents. It doesn't bother me what they think, but I am really quite tired of changing his diapers. So I have been working with him, with very little progress. I can get him to pee in the toliet pretty much all day long, if I stay on him, but he has yet to poop in the toliet!!!UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could get him to poop and not pee in the toliet, I could probably make some progress. But having to change the poop out of underwear really grosses me out! And I get tired of it REALLY QUICK! So anyway yesterday after I changed his diaper he absolutely refused to put on another one he insisted on underwear. Well I thought maybe he is ready now, so I put the underwear on him. We were sitting in my parents room (they are not home) watching a movie since our VCR doesn't work anymore. I would not let him sit on the bed, because my mom would FREAK OUT if she knew he had peed in it. So he had to stay on the ground. Well when in was over I told everyone to go upstairs and go to my room, so we could have a chat. The phone rang so I picked it up in my parents room. Upon returning it I found Josh on my father's chair with that look on his face. I said to him what are you doing in here, let's go upstairs, and he just looked at me and said I peed. OH GREAT! So I cleaned up my dad FAVORITE chair, showered Josh and prayed I got it all out.

Fastforward to today. Josh woke up dry and went in the toliet, so proud of himself he convinced me again to put on underwear. I have some training pants (they are a little thicker than regular underwear) and told him he must wear these. So he wanted his Buzz Lightyear underwear. We made a compromise and he wore both. Now it is 11:30am, and he hasn't peed or pooped and I'm getting nervous and I'm just going to force him to sit on the toliet, and he comes to the top of the stair to tell me he has pooped in his pants. Luckily the training pants soaked up the pee. But I thought I am going to make this a little more difficult for him and I made him clean the poop off of his underwear. First of all he got poop all over. Even under his nails, all over his hands, the toliet seat, the ground, etc. As he was doing this he was giggling with glee of how hard it was to get the poop off of the underwear. I tried to show him how to do it a little more gracefully, but it just went right over his head. I gave up with him cleaning the underwear and decided to throw them away instead. Somedays, you just can't do it. I gave him a shower and cleaned him up. He loves showers, I almost wish it was a punishment, but it so is not. UGH!

I honestly don't know when he will be potty trained, maybe I will really try over Thanksgiving, or Christmas Breaks. I had a friend who once had Santa take the diapers when he came on Christmas eve. Maybe we will have to do that.

But today Toby said to me "I guess you are going to have to homeschool Josh, since he isn't getting potty trained soon enough". I was not happy that another person was thinking exactly what I was thinking. Well maybe he won't go to college in diapers.

Primary Program

Today was the kids Primary Program. Toby, Tyler and Abby did such a good job. Abby had her part memorized and said it perfectly. Toby and Tyler spoke clearly and all three were singing everyword. It was a nice moment. The first time I haven't been a part of the Primary Program in 6 years! I tried to get a picture before we left but we didn't have a whole bunch of time and they were being goofy. So this is as good as it gets. Atleast for today anyway.

Abby (jazz hands) Inskeep, Tyler, Toby, Joshua, and Jamie

My three Primary kids, Abby, Tyler and Toby.
You can't tell it in these pictures, but the boys all had haircuts last night, they look so much better. And I put Abby's hair in those pink foam rollers and had her sleep in them. It was a little frizzy in the begining, but it was soo cute. She does not like "puffy" hair. But it really did look cute.

Saturday Afternoon Trip to the ER

After a long morning of Scouting for Food and 3 soccer games. I need a time out. So we all got changed and were supposed to be having a 30 minute quiet time. (Really so I could regroup). About 20 minutes in Tyler starts screaming and then Jamie chimes in. I ran into the girls room and found that I couldn't open the door all I could see was Tyler with blood dripping down his face. He could see himself in the mirror and it was freaking him out. When I couldn't open the door to get in then I started freaking out. Somehow, Abby's closet door had fallen on him and cut his eyebrow open. I grabbed him and gave him a towel to stop the bleeding. I was afraid because it was kinda deep that we would have to have stitches. Tyler was terrified at the thought, but we went to the ER anyway. Me and all 5 kids. My parents are both visiting Dolphe and Meagan in hopes of her having the baby anyday now. So I called James and told him to meet me there. The whole way there I had to reassure him that I would be there right beside him the whole time. Luckily they got him in pretty quick. They were just cleaning up the wound when James showed up. It turns out he didn't need stitches, just glue. I tried to take a picture of the wound pre-glue, but he didn't want a picture--very rare for Tyler. He was more than ready for pictures when he came home though. Here is the outcome of our afternoon trip to the ER.

Tyler all glued up!

Way too happy to have a head wound!
We gave him a haircut after this picture, he looks so much better.

Called to Serve Him

So the much anticipated Election day is finally here! In California we are trying preserve marriage as between a man and a woman. In others words "Vote Yes on Prop 8". Our church has joing a coalition with other churches to get this Prop passed. We have been doing phone calls, having rallies, hanging door hanger, etc.. So this morning when I took Abby to school there were some "No" on Prop 8 people standing on the corner of the school with their signs. I did not feel comfortable with them on the school property and complained to the Asst. Principal (something I usually don't do), but she said the sidewalk was public property. Taking this into consideration. I took my prop 8 sign and some handouts and stood on the corner next to her. As we were walking to school with the sign and my entourage as i like to call them my son was humming a song that the kids are singing at church on Sunday. As the words ran through my head I was thinking that this is exactly what we were doing.

The words of the song are:
Called to serve Him, Heavenly King of Glory
Chosen e'er to witness for his name,
Far and wide we tell the Father's story Far and wide his love proclaim.
Onward, ever onward, as we glory in his name;
Onward, ever onward, as we glory in his name,
Forward pressing forward as a triumph song we sing
God our strength will be, press forward ever,
Called to serve our King.

Ususally this song is sung in regards to missionaries leaving on missions. In this moment I thought of the apostles reminding us to stand up for what is right. I thought of the scriptures, where we are told to fear God and not man, I thought of, no matter how hard the adversary tries we must press forward with Faith keeping our Faith in Christ. We are serving Him when we stand up for what we believe in.

At this poing it is too early to turn on the news and hear results. I hope and pray that Prop 8 will pass. As I stood on the corner with my children, I noticed that some of my friends said Hi, but few wanted to stop and chat with me (as they usually do) with the opposition was right next to me. I don't know if it was because they were busy or didn't want to make it look like they were for Prop 8. But I did have people come and tell me that I was not alone, that they were glad that I was there "evening out the corner" if you will. Tyler passed out the pamplets and hummed Called to Serve the whole time. I think somewhere down there that he knows, that he is serving Christ in this action. In conclusion I think that above all if we strive to do what is right Heavenly Father will know what is in our hearts. And as long as we all just do our best we should be o.k.

If you haven't voted please Vote Yes on Prop 8 and preserve traditional marriage and families.

Racer X, Harry, Dorothy, Power Ranger and Pooh Bear

Halloween 2008

Abby as Dorothy (I finally convinced her to be something other than a Princess!!)

Harry, Racer X, Pooh Bear, Power Ranger and Dorothy

Jamie was Pooh Bear. Our neighbor Gloria gave her some marshmellows. She loved them!

Red Power Ranger-Josh getting an early start on the Halloween candy.

Harry Potter-Tyler this year we dyed his hair black. He looked totally different. He kept staring at himself in the mirror awe struck by his reflection.

Racer X (from Speed Racer)- Toby got this parrot at the Harvest Festival and for some reason he wouldn't take a picture without it. I think here he was trying to be a pirate with it on his shoulder.

Vote "YES" on Prop 8!

California has been a liberal state for a long time. But 8 years ago we voted for marriage to be between a Man and a Woman. This year a judge decided that he knew better than 60% of Californian's and made it legal for gays to marry!!! So now it is back on the ballot. I'd like to think of it as a way of telling judges if the majority wants it, it doesn't matter if it is on their agenda! I don't like to talk politics, but this topic seems to be forcing me to. It scares me what could happen to our society if this prop does not pass. Lots of people have said to me how is it going to affect me? Well it is legal for gays to marry in Massachusetts and it is staggering! They are teaching in schools that it is perfectly normal for gays to marry, holding it with the same regard as traditional marriage. Adoption agencies have had to close and churches have lost their tax exempt status. Voting yes on prop 8 does not change any rights for the gay community, it just defines marriage as between a MAN and a WOMAN. I have had gay friends, and been close to gay people, but that does not change my feelings. I hope that Californian's will vote yes on Prop 8 and tell the world that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Toby Becomes a Webelo

Since Toby was finished with his bear and already earned an arrow point. they bridged him a month (actually 2 weeks) early, since one other boy was bridging too. Here he is as his last moment as a Bear.

Here he is on the bridge.

this is his Webelo leader, Sister Farmer. He is happy to advance and get new goals. He likes the new scarf and the shoulder straps. I can't believe he only has one more year till he goes to Boy Scouts!!! It's making me feel old! I will soon be on the Eagle trail!

Congratulations, Toby!

L.A. County Fair

Tyler is reading Charlotte's Web for school. So
when we saw this we just had to take a picture.

They had these little tractors you could peddle
around. All of the kids were too tall except Josh.
Abby was so sweet and pushed him around, Josh
was not great at steering, but she was so patient.
What a nice sister!

We won an Operation game. My mom said that
she knew she was going to win. The kids were
really excited.

It was a hot day at the fair. Jamie would not
drink the water we kept trying to give her. We
were all thirsty so we got some lemonade from
Hot Dog on a Stick. She loved it!! We put some in
her cup and she wouldn't drink it unless it was
in this purple cup. She really got into it.

We had a fun day at the Fair. We saw all kinds of animals. We saw some snow and went sledding California style. We saw the quilts, and went on the giant slide. Toby, Abby and Tyler even did the Euro bunjee. We went on some rides, did a little shopping, and grazed our way through the fair. It was a long day, but it was really fun. I'm glad that we went on a Friday, it was pretty busy, I don't think I could have handled 5 kids with it being much busier.

The kids were really good, they kept telling us thank you for taking us. I didn't realize that the stuff I told them had finally sunk in. It was so sweet. When we were walking back to the car Abby kept telling us she was tired that she was going to sleep in the car. When we did get into the car, I asked Toby what his favorite thing was, then I asked Tyler, when I got to Abby she was already asleep. We wore them out good! It was great!

Walking to school?

O.k. We just got home from school. I have been trying to walk to school at least once a day. It seems like the little trips are what kills my gas mileage. With gas prices so high and it costing $75.00 to fill up my car. I am trying all I can to conserve.

So our mornings are usually pretty hectic. They shouldn't be now that I only have to take one kids to school, but they still are. So I usually end up rushing Abby to school. Now the challenge is coming home. It is still really hot in the afternoon, so I don't like to walk home for that reason. Today I thought oh it's not hot we'll walk. Sometimes by the time I get everyone in the car and over there it takes just as long as it would have to walk. Everything was fine until we got there. We had to walk up the hill to school and by the time I got to the front I was totally hot (and not in a good way) :)

So I had taken snacks for Abby because she is always hungry right after school. They were not to her satisfaction. And she cried the whole way home about how her legs hurt and it was too hot for her!! I kept telling her to calm down and look for pretty flowers or enjoy the bushes and trees. This did not work. Needless to say we need to get moving faster in the morning, because they enjoy walking to school. But would sooner die than walk home!

Birthday Parties No More

So we are in the middle of our birthday season in our family. Josh has a birthday in June, James-July, Jamie and Tyler-August, Me, Toby and Abby-October. We have a Anniversary and other birthday's in the middle of all this too. So I have thinking alot about birthdays and Birthday Parties lately. I was thinking, I don't think that I have had a real honest to goodness birthday party since I was 16! I have celebrated my birthday, even gone out to lunch with friends and on dates, etc. But I haven't had a party where I invited all my friends, played games, have cake, and pass out favors for myself since 16. Weird huh?

I give my kids a party almost every year. Some of them are bigger than others. Some are very quaint. I think that I should have a party. But then comes the question of who to invite and where to have it that will be big enough. So I probably won't have one. But I was trying to convince Toby and Abby not to have a big party this year. October is so busy and there is just no time it seems like. But now that I think that half of my life I haven't had a party, I think that they have to have parties as long as they want them, because there will inevitably come a time when they just won't have one. :( It's sad to think of. Sometimes I'm just proud of myself for letting them make it to their birthday. Other years I am amazed at how much they have grown. The time goes by so fast.

If it is any concellation I have had 3 (I think) bridal showers, and 8 baby showers (2 of which were a total surprise). So I have not been lacking for parties for the last 16 years. There has just been an absence of Birthday Parties. Maybe sometime in the next 16 years I'll have one! :)

What a Nice Big Sister!

Josh and Abby 4-08
Ok, I'm a little slow with getting the pictures out of the camera, the picture is from April but this happened on Friday. I have some pictures of this cute event, but I have to get this down before I forget it.
Abby gets tickets in her class if she does something good or nice to others. When they get the tickets they put them in a box and at the end of the week the teacher picks a few out and they get to pick something from the treasure box. So on Friday Abby got picked to go to the treasure box. I was carrying her backpack on the way to the car and I commented on how heavy it was and she said she got to go to the treasure box, so I asked her what she got. She said, " I saw this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse box in there and I knew Josh would like it so I got it for him. They have another one too so if I get to go to the box next time and it's still there I'll get it for him so he can have two." I looked at her with my jaw on the ground and tears in my eyes. To think that she thought about getting something for her little brother first. And then she is willing to do it again. She is such a nice sister. I don't know if I can or should take credit for this nice thing she did, but I just thought it was so sweet. Josh loves the box and is so thankful to her for getting it for him. I hope that they are always this thoughtful of each other!

Celebrating 12 years!!

When I moved to California for my senior year of high school. Finding a boyfriend was not high on my priority list. I was so upset to leave all of my friends behind in Illinois. But then I met James, we hit it off right away. And we didn't leave each other's side all year long it seems. I was heart broken when he went to Catalina for the summer, then we went to two different colleges in two different states! I did NOT want to wait for him when he went on his mission and made that very clear. But four years after we met we got married. We were engaged for 7 weeks, I think that at times my mom could have killed us for that. Two years after we were married we had Toby. And have had a baby almost every two years since. It doesn't seem possible that we could be married for 12 years and have 5 kids, but we have and we do. We have our ups and our downs. Thankfully so many more ups than downs. I was looking at one of his cousins blogs and she had a timeline of herself and I thought wouldn't it be fun to see how we have changed in the past 12 (well actually 16) years! So here are some of my favorit pics of the two of us from the past 12 (16) years.
P.S. I think that I need some help making this look right. I'm not happy with the layout of the pics, but I don't know what to do. I'm still new to this bear with me.

Sick of Being Sick

The kids get sick occasionally. Obviously with 7 people in our family things get passed around. Usually the kids get it first then they pass it along to me when they are all done. Which I think really stinks, because they lay on the couch and sleep generally just take it easy. Then by the time I get it they have all this energy that they need to spend and I'm the one on the couch wanting a nap and not getting one. It's just not fair, but it's what being a mom is all about. I usually just suck it up and just try to get rest when I can.

This year something weird has happened. Just as school started last week, Josh and Abby had a little cough. It was just a cough, no fever or runny noses. So I thought little of it. Then I got the cough, and a fever. I am coaching soccer and the season is just getting started so I went to a coaching clinic for 3 1/2 hours last Sat. I thought I would just go and sit and they would tell me how to coach. Instead they had some professional players from the UK come and train us. They made us run drills the whole time. I felt like I was going to pass out. I was so hopped up on Dayquil, cough drops and Tylenol I didn't know if the ball was coming or going. I came home and took a nap, went to the doctor and they said it was Bronchitis.

I'm usually not the greatest at taking medications, I just forget. But I felt so awful all week I religiously took the medicine. By Thursday night, I was still not feeling any better and I could actually hear myself wheezing. So I went to the doctor again to find out that I had pnemonia. James went crazy. He was so mad that it had gotten worse, that he employed spies in my own house. He told the kids to call him if I wasn't resting. A friend from church took Josh for the day, and my dad took Jamie with him to run errands. I tried to get the boys to get all of their school work done, Tyler finished, Toby did not. But I stayed on the couch/bed all day long. One day was enough for me. Now Saturday day 2 in bed. I am at the breaking point, I've taken enough naps that I can't sleep, but I can't get out of bed either. I am totally weak, carrying Jamie is the most I can do and I almost had Toby carry her up the stairs for me. I hope that I get better soon. Because I am sick of being sick.

On a positive note, I don't know what I would do without my mom, because she is totally taking care of the kids (even taking them to soccer games) and doing my laundry!!! She is going to need a week away after all this. There should be a law that mom's with little kids can only be sick 1 maybe 2 days!!

Tyler's Baptism

Tyler is 8!! It is such a busy time for him. He is starting 3rd grade, gets to join cub scouts and most importantly he gets to get baptized. He was baptized Aug 30th. The bishop said that he was one of the most prepared he had interviewed for baptism. We are so proud of him and his decision to be baptized.
Josh and Abby were very suportive of his decision. Josh inspected the baptismal font for quite sometime before the baptism started. Abby was working crowd control at the baptism. On the way home from the baptism in the car Josh asked us if Tyler got baptized? When we answered in the affirmative he gave us a very excited YES!! It was so cute. Ah, brotherly love.

shampoo the carpet or shampoo on the carpet?

A few weeks ago I was doing the laundry and when I went upstairs I found that Abby and Josh had taken the spray sunblock and sprayed it on the carpet all the way down the hall and in their bedrooms. This fiasco was followed up by pee on the floor and poop in the shower. It was quite the day. Anyway a friend lent me her carpet cleaner to use as long as I needed since they no longer had carpet. (sounds good to me right now). Well it has been crazy and I haven't been able to shampoo the carpet yet, fast forward to Tuesday. We were getting ready to go to the beach with some friends who moved away and were coming back to visit and I was making lunch to take. The kids were all upstairs playing and I in my naive way thought oh the kids are playing so nicely upstairs. Ha Ha Ha! What was actually happening was that Toby and Tyler were watching tv on my bed and Abby and Joshua had gotten into the travel size shampoo bottle that I gave Tyler to use after swim practice. Not only did they have it but they were shampooing the stuffed animals and the blankets and the carpet. I was so frustrated when Tyler came running downstairs to tell me that his pooh bear had shampoo all over it, as did his bunk bed. I mean really now I have to clean this up too! Luckily James was home so he shampooed the carpets while we got ready to go to the beach. In case you were wondering hair shampoo on carpets is not a good thing!

Kids say and think the funniest things

I have been in Primary for 6 years. For 4 years doing the music and for just about 2 as the 1st counselor. A couple months ago I got released to do cub scouts so now I get to go to Relief Society on Sunday and be with all the ladies. I don't know how happy about that I really am yet. But on Sunday as we sat down at church the person who is the new counselor in Primary said to me that Tyler did something. Automatically I thought I was going to have to sit in Primary to keep him in control, but I got lucky this time. She said she was in his class and they were talking about the word of wisdom and she said tobacco was bad for you. Well Tyler kept telling her not all tobacco is bad there is one kind that you can have. After they went back and forth for a little she finally got out of him the kind of tobacco that was o.k. He told her, "you know the kind that is red and really hot." She said, "Oh, Tabasco". And he said, "yeah tabasco". I guess we need to teach him the difference between tobacco and tabasco :)

This is a picture of Tyler with Jacqueline one of his best friends.

Jamie's First Birthday

So James took the day off for Jamie's Birthday, and the poor little baby girl woke up with a fever. After a slow morning we went to the pool for a little party with our pool friends. We go swimming virtually everyday, so we went to have a little party with them. Jamie had her first cake there. She wasn't sure about it at first, but then she LOVED IT!! She was not a very happy girl for long, so we brought her home and her temp was 102.1 I felt so bad for her. This was her big day and she was sick. After a nap she was a little better, but she didn't have much dinner and went to bed early. So we had another party for her on Sunday to make up for how yucky she was on Friday. She was in a much better mood, more like herself. Now she is one and one week. I can't believe it has been a year. She is walking more and more everyday. She would walk more if we kept the shoes off of her. I wish Grammie and Grandpa Inskeep could see how cute and good natured she is. I have considered shipping her there but I don't think that would work out so well. :) I guess they will just have to take my word for it.

New Blogger

O.k. So I am totally new to this and it will probably take me a while to get it all figured out. With siblings and parents moving farther away I thought that this might work. Since I am not so great at getting a hold of everyone so I thought that maybe I can keep everyone up to date with this blog. So this is just my test posting. Have a great night.
