5 reasons why I love my new car!

I got a Chevy Suburban a week ago....We have been leasing cars for a while now since we knew our needs would change every couple of years what with having more kids every couple of years. Well now that we are done having kids we won't need a bigger car anytime soon. So as our lease was ending on the Sequoia we were faced with the question of which car do we get now? A SUV or a big van? Both had pros and cons, but since a van wouldn't fit in the garage we opted for an SUV. I searched Craig's List (I know it's crazy considering James sells cars) and found the perfect car for us! When I saw the ad I knew it was the car for us. The people selling it had just outgrown it so that was their only reason for getting rid of it. We had to drive all the way to Yucaipa to get it, but it was so worth it.! So here are the top 5 reasons I love my new car!

1. It's paid for!!! We have had two car payments for at least 10 years, maybe longer. But we paid cash for it and it is so satisfying to know that in a month we won't have to make a payment on it. I know it will probably be more exciting next month when we have that "extra" money. It feels so fiscally responsible!

2. 9 Seats! I know it's not something most people would get excited about, but I was giddy as a school girl. It was the only car in LA, Orange County, Santa Barbara, San Diego and the Inland Empire that had 9 passengers. Most people in So Cal don't have as many kids as I do, so they don't sell this car a bunch. It was kinda my dream to be able to find a 9 passenger, I never really thought it would happen. Now we can take one extra person with us when we go somewhere as a family, I can take the kids and my parents, we can seperate kids if they aren't getting along. And the kids favorite reason: 2 shot guns!

3. Barn Doors! There are two options for back doors: Barn doors or the window and/or door that flip up (I totally don't know the technical term). While the Sequoia had the "flip up" feature which wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I prefferred. With Barn doors I can pull into the garage and empty out the back of the car. Whereas before I was parking in the driveway to lift up the back. I can put in the stroller or anything really without hitting the garage door, it's a good thing!

4. It's been taken care of. The people that had it took really good care of it so it is in good condition. It runs well and smooth, I don't feel like I need to say a prayer before I turn the key. The previous owners did have a dog that they kept in the car, and there are a few dog scratch marks, but on the whole it's good.

5. It fits in the garage. If I don't park in the garage I have to park up on the street, there are so many reasons why I don't want to park on the street, so it just makes me so happy that I got a car that can fit in the garage and still do all the other things I need.

This car just makes me so happy. I feel like we were truly blessed to be able to get it. I guess now all I need to do is post pics of it. :)
